Solid Wood Furniture – Built to Last Generations

Real solid wood, traditional joinery, and hand-applied finishes. Every piece at Casa Decor is built to outlast the room it sits in – from mesquite dining tables to red oak beds and walnut desks.

What solid wood actually means

Solid wood furniture is built from real lumber – no veneers over particleboard, no MDF cores, no thin skins. When you see the grain on a Casa Decor piece, that grain runs all the way through. It can be sanded, refinished, and passed down. It's the difference between furniture and something that eventually gets thrown away.

Wood species we work in

Mesquite – dense, warm, uniquely Texan, almost indestructible. Red oak – strong, forgiving, with a beautiful open grain. Walnut – darker, richer, ages spectacularly. Alder – softer, takes stain beautifully. Pine – light, casual, distresses well. Reclaimed barnwood – history you can touch.

Traditional joinery

Mortise-and-tenon, dovetail, and through-tenon joints lock a piece together without relying on staples or screws. Done well, the joints outlast the wood around them. Every Casa Decor piece is built with joinery you can inspect.

Finishes that age beautifully

Hand-rubbed oil and hard-wax finishes deepen with time. A Casa Decor piece looks better in twenty years than it did on day one. That's the point of solid wood – the patina is a feature, not a flaw.

Frequently Asked

Look at the ends of shelves and drawer sides – real solid wood shows continuous grain running through the thickness. Veneers show a paper-thin layer over a lighter-colored core. Solid wood also feels heavier than it looks.
